Senior Programmer

Senior Programmer
Senior programmers act as, or in conjunction with the team's technical project leader. The senior programmer works with the project manager to ensure that the technical aspects of a project are defined, developed and implemented on schedule and within cost. The senior programmer is a critical supporting team member in all the Architecture, Development, Integration, and Deployment phases of the TravelServer Software product development methodology. The responsibilities vary depending on the size and phase of the project.
Other key responsibilities include:
· Translate functional and technical requirements to computer code.
· Communicate and document clear and concise technical assessments and requirements.
· Define possible future technical enhancements to site
· Communicate and research various technical solutions and existing software packages that enhance the development process.
· Build applications that provide the technical foundation of Web sites or Web-based software products.
· Writing detailed level design of software components
· Develop application wide test plans and perform unit testing on software components.
· Generate and develop efficient concise and re-usable code.
· Build functional prototype applications.
· Work closely with the team's designers and interface programmers to build the final product that includes all design and navigation aspects of the site.
· Transfer and share knowledge with technical staff and project team members.
· Tune and optimize application and Web site architecture for performance and scalability.
· Direct and manage mid to entry level programmers as required
· Maintain and expand knowledge of industry best practices by attending training and reading available technical literature.
Requirements
· 4+ years of experience in designing and implementing business applications using current technologies
· Full Life Cycle development expertise
· Thorough understanding of web development and implementation concepts
· Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent experience required.
· Preferred Technology experience includes: Microsoft Development technologies (Visual Basic.NET, SQL*Server, ADO.NET, COM, MTS, COM+), Microsoft Internet technologies (IIS, ASP, VBScript, Site Server), HTML/DHTML, XML, JavaScript
